Thank you for using Stock Profit Calculator (the “App”). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the App processes and how it is handled in order to meet Google Play requirements and protect your rights.
Summary
- No account required.
- Data stays on your device by default. We do not collect or store your portfolio, watchlist, or profit data on our servers.
- No sale of data. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
- Cloud sync is optional and permission‑based. If you explicitly enable any cloud backup/sync features, only then will your data be transmitted and stored securely for that purpose.
Data We Process
The App can store the following information locally on your device to provide core functionality:
- Tickers, positions, quantities, average costs, and other position metrics you enter.
- Watchlist symbols and preferences you enter.
- Display and notification preferences (e.g., currency, theme).
Real‑time or delayed market prices may be retrieved from external market data providers to show you pricing and compute profit/loss. This retrieval is request/response only and is not used by us to identify you.
Data Storage and Retention
All portfolio and watchlist data is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. If you uninstall the App, locally stored data is removed from your device as part of the uninstall process. If you choose to enable cloud backup/sync (when available), data will be stored until you disable the feature or request deletion.
Optional Cloud Sync / Backups
We may offer an optional cloud sync or backup feature. This is off by default and requires your consent to activate. If enabled:
- Data transmitted is limited to what is required to perform sync/backup (e.g., portfolio, watchlist, app settings).
- Transmission occurs over encrypted channels (HTTPS/TLS).
- You can disable sync at any time and can request deletion of any cloud‑stored data (see Your Rights).
Permissions
The App may request the following permissions only to support functionality you initiate:
- Network access – to fetch market data and check subscription status.
- Notifications (optional) – to alert you to price moves or reminders you configure.
The App does not access your contacts, photos, precise location, or other device data unrelated to portfolio tracking.
Sensitive Financial Information
We understand that investment data is highly personal and sensitive. By default, your positions, transaction costs, and profit/loss figures remain on your device. We do not monitor or use this data for analytics or advertising. If you share screenshots or exports externally, they are outside the scope of this policy.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided data to us via an optional cloud feature, contact us so we can delete it.
Your Rights and Controls
- Access & correction: You can view and edit your data within the App.
- Local deletion: You can delete items or uninstall the App to remove locally stored data.
- Cloud deletion (if enabled): Contact us to request deletion of any cloud‑stored data associated with your account or identifier.
Security
We use industry‑standard encryption for data in transit when communicating with our servers or third‑party services. Local storage resides on your device; please use your device’s built‑in security (screen lock, biometric, encrypted backup) to protect access.
Third‑Party Services
The App may interact with market‑data or subscription services to provide functionality. We do not include third‑party advertising SDKs. Any third‑party service used will receive only the minimum data necessary to operate the feature. Their use is governed by their own privacy policies.
International Users
If you enable an optional cloud feature, your data may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions. By enabling cloud services, you consent to that processing as described here.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. We will post the updated date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in‑app where appropriate.
